Dr. Shalini F Wickremesooriya

Dr Shalini F Wickremesooriya is a UK qualified Speech and Language Therapist and a Counseling Psychologist/ Psychotherapist. She is a certified member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, UK and licensed by the Sri Lanka Medical Council. She is an independent practitioner who is involved in Research, Clinical practice and Lecturing. She has extensive experience speaking at international conferences and liaising with professionals across the globe. Her work revolves around empowering individuals with impairments and disorders whilst promoting the philosophy of inclusive communities.

DAYANTHI-ALUWIHARE
Ms. Dayanthi Aluwihare

Dayanthi Aluwhiare is a resourceful teaching professional, with skills to motivate peak individual performance. Actively involved in all areas of education; including curriculum development, examining and teacher mentoring, she has many years of practical experience in facilitating learning for adults in Cooperate Organizations and for children in both city and rural settings. Certified as a trainer from the University of Cambridge and a Trainer of Online Tutor Mentors she conducts workshops for teachers to promote innovative teaching methodologies and improve practice. She designs and carries out intervention for students with learning difficulties and reaches out, through an Online Programme which is the Diploma in Special Needs Education, to a global community of educators desirous of learning methodologies to work with students with learning difficulties

MALATHI-ALGAMA
Ms. Malathi Algama

Mrs. Algama is a Chartered Secretary (Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, UK) with many years of working experience , with exposure in the areas of Finance, Company Secretarial and Legal Functions, HR Management, Administration, Purchasing and Supplies, Stores Management, Event Management and Training and Teaching.

From July 1981 she has worked in many Companies as a member of the Senior Management Team. Among the Companies she has worked at are Ceylon Shipping Lines, Sea Lion Express Services (Pvt) Ltd, Milk Industries of Lanka (Pvt) Ltd and Union Trust & Investments Ltd.

From the year 2000, she has concentrated on lecturing and teaching in the fields of Office Administration, Secretarial Practice and Meetings.

Shereen-Rodrigo
Ms. Shereen Rodrigo

She has a BA in English and English Language Teaching (BA/ELT) from the Open University of Sri Lanka.Presently reading for Masters in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) -at the same university.She is also a visiting Academic at the Open University of Sri Lanka.

Ms. Soharnee Walpita

Ms. Soharnee Walpita is the present Co-Course Director of the full time Pre-School & Sub Primary Education Course. Her first teaching qualification ‘Diploma in Preschool teacher training’ was obtained from the Ladies’ College IPS formerly known as the Department of Vocational Studies. She has obtained further training by successfully completing a Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Froebel College, Roehampton Institute of Higher Education (UK) and completed the International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers, Cambridge UK. She also has a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychology from Colombo Institute of Research and Psychology (CIRP).

She lectures on Child and Language Development. These are two important human developmental aspects, an awareness of which is essential to all teachers.

Cheryl-Abeyewardene
Ms. Cheryl Abeyewardene

Lecturer

Ms Cheryl Abeyewardene has a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kelaniya and also has a Diploma in Child Psychology. She has more than 15 years teaching experience in reputed schools and nurseries.

She believes that all children are unique and must be encouraged to use their creativity. Ms Abeyewardene has also worked in the NGO sector in empowering underprivileged women.

Hilarine-Fernando
Ms. Hilarine Fernando

Ms. Hilarine Fernando is an Early Childhood Education Lecturer. She holds a Diploma in Pre-school Teacher Training done at the Ladies’ College Department of Vocational Studies currently known as Ladies’ College Institute of Professional Studies. She has experience in teaching nursery and Grade 1 in well known schools. She holds a Licentiate Diploma in Speech and Drama (LTCL teaching – Trinity College of Music and Drama London. She also is an examiner for Speech and Drama exams. She believes that it has been an incredibly rewarding experience and joy in teaching children.

Sudanthi-Jayawardena
Ms.Sudanthi Jayawardena

Ms.Sudanthi Jayawardena possesses an Honours degree in Science from the University of Kelaniya, Master of education, and Post Graduate Diploma in Education from OUSL.
Ms Jayawardena has been an exceptional teacher who has proven herself both in the Science and the Commerce streams simultaneously. She has nearly 18 years of teaching experience in reputed International schools, and has been producing excellent results in the G.C.E London O/L Biology, Chemistry and Business and Accounting Studies in the G.C.E.London and Local O/L. She also holds a diploma in Early childhood Education and part qualification in CIMA and CIM (UK).In addition to teaching, she has experience in school management, administration, examining and teacher mentoring .She is also an innovative professional who believes in new teaching methods in order to enhance knowledge and interest, in her students.

Prashanie Attygalle is a Graduate and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of United Kingdom. She also has a diploma in Personnel Management. She has more than 30 years of experience in senior managerial positions in International companies. Currently holds the position of the Group Company Secretary and head of Corporate Communication at MTD Walkers PLC Group.

Sonnali-Siriwardena
Ms. Sonnali Siriwardena

Lecturer

Ms. Sonnali Siriwardena has obtained her MA in Linguistics from University of Kelaniya and BA from Manglore University, India. She also holds a diploma in Counseling and a diploma in Child Psychology. Having started her teaching career at a reputed girls’ school in Colombo, she has been an assistant lecturer at the University of Kelaniya and is currently a visiting lecturer at University of Moratuwa.

Count over 30 years work experience in administration in the Private and Public sectors and Diplomatic Missions Sri Lanka and overseas. Professional qualifications are the LLCCI. (UK) Diplomas from the Open University and the Commonwealth Secretariat in Youth in Development Work. Diploma in Event Management. Diploma in Protocol and International Relations. Diploma in Communication, structure of Business, Secretarial Practices and Office Organisation. Diploma in Early Childhood learning Disabilities. Several overseas trainings. Currently a trainer, lecturer and resource person for banks, training institutes, private and public sector and schools.

A highly motivated and results-driven Educator with 12+ years of experience in conducting English Language related programs locally and overseas with specialization in teacher training and education. Has a proven track record of developing and delivering effective training programs in diverse multi-cultural environments that foster student growth and development. She is skilled in identifying training needs and creating engaging training materials to meet those needs.

She excels in facilitating interactive training sessions that promote learning and skill development by focusing on their individual needs and filling their knowledge gaps. She also has extensive experience as an international motivational speaker and liaising with professionals across the globe. She has received numerous awards & recognitions for her contributions in the fields of her interest.
